Mike

It’s awfully hard to focus on the lighter side of life when you’re painfully reminded how tenuous that life is.

Another friend of ours has lost her husband. He slipped in their front yard, hit the back of his head and now he is gone. Mike was only in his thirties, healthy and strong. This is a most unexpected blow.

He was a wonderful man. He and his wife had gone through some difficult trials including her breast cancer and the awful treatments she had to endure. He was supportive, intelligent and kind, and our world is poorer for his loss.

Once again, everyone, grab your loved ones. Hold them and tell them how much you adore them. Don’t let silly little things irritate you about them—try to treat every day as if it is your last together, because one day it might.

Many prayers to your friend’s family. May they have many happy memories to draw upon.

  2. Oh god. This is just so sad. Why do things like this happen to so many good people? Sending thoughts and prayers across the ponds.
