Look at this!
The picture was taken in Carlsbad, about two blocks south from Carlsbad Village Drive. I can’t tell you if they are glued or not because I didn’t dare touch them.
We’ve seen them at Cardiff Beach, but they disappear quickly. Either the wind, the waves, or other beachgoers knock them down. But these have been up a while.
I Googled the subject and learned the term for this activity: Rock Balancing. I also found someone in Florida who does rock balancing as well as sand sculptures. But the best part of discovering more about rock balancing was finding Phoons.
I’m now itching to do a Phoon myself: one of me Phooning on the top of my van whilst in the middle of stop-and-go traffic on I-5, with two stinky teenagers in the back, looking pained for all they must endure at the hands of their psycho mom/chauffeur.
